Had a one-bedroom apartment on the 23rd, good views over the town to the water, and lovely fresh breeze from the balcony. Room wasn't serviced but could have been had I wanted, and anything that was needed was available. Front counter staff excellent and very helpful. Kitchenette inc microwave, small dishwasher very convenient, and full size fridge a bonus for self catering. Bathroom quite compact as there is a washer / dryer, might be more difficult to navigate for any mobility impaired. Pretty good location - not on the waterfront so not as many restaurants on the doorstep but is only a couple of short blocks to the town centre. Continental breakfast included was more than enough and ate several times in the restaurant at night, was fairly reasonably priced and good food.

With 26 floors, the Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel has one of the BEST views around, even from a hallway view, as well as from the most floors. Parking is also only $15 a night compared with high rates at other local hotels, and is multiple entry/exit privileges. The Genius discount got me a WONDERFUL view, and upgrade from continental to full breakfast. (Continental is still great.) There is a pool on the 6th floor, too. It is in walking distance of the government buildings, shopping, restaurants and grocery stores, and I was able to take a historical walking tour in the morning, starting only 2 blocks away. The staff was friendly and polite, Glad I chose this hotel to stay at!

Check in was a breeze and the friendly front desk staff gave me a beautiful room on a high floor with a fantastic view! The location was great - close to plenty of restaurants and local tourist activities. Every morning, the plentiful, complimentary continental breakfast buffet, with lots of fresh fruit and juices coffee, tea, a delicious assortment of pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, jams and jellies, cereal etc. were available. The hotel is very clean and everything in my room worked properly. I highly recommend Oaks Darwin to anyone staying there.

My Genius status saw my room upgraded to an ocean view, and it was fabulous. Well appointed, with a big, very comfortable bed and excellent block-out curtains. I arrived to soft music and ambient lighting - nice! It's unfortunate that the restaurant isn't open for lunch, as not much is open for lunch elsewhere in Darwin on the weekends, however the (included) breakfasts were very good. Only niggle is, I feel $15 per night for off-street parking is a bit expensive. Overall, great accommodation. We will return.
